Emerging Leader Award
The ACEC/MN Emerging Leader Award was developed to recognize an ACEC/MN member still in the early stages of their career who has already contributed significantly to the association.
The 2024-25 Emerging Leader Award was presented to Shan Morgen of Isthmus Engineering. This award was created to recognize an ACEC member still in the early stages of their career who has already contributed significantly to the association.
Shan has been an engaged volunteer for ACEC/MN since 2022, and this year was the chair of the Young Professionals Committee, organizing and hosting many events throughout the year to promote networking and educational opportunities for young professionals. He has also volunteered at many ACEC/MN & EFFA events, including the EEFA Scholarship Golf Tournament and the EEA Gala. Shan has also serving on the EEFA Workforce Development Committee participating in youth outreach.
Shan currently works as a Project Engineer with Isthmus Engineering, and recently obtained his PE license. He holds degrees in physics and civil engineering at UW La Crosse and the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and also worked for AmeriCorps and Habitat for Humanity to gain new experiences while helping others and building community.
