Engineering Excellence

The Engineering Excellence Awards highlight consulting engineering projects that materially improve Minnesota’s infrastructure, economic performance, public health and well-being, and community resilience.

Each year, honored projects demonstrate technical rigor, innovation, effective coordination with clients and stakeholders, the ability to deliver complex solutions under real-world constraints, and careful stewardship of public and private investment.

Through this program, ACEC Minnesota elevates engineering leadership in the design and delivery of infrastructure systems that serve Minnesotans for generations.

About EEA

Established in 1967, Minnesota's Engineering Excellence Awards highlight the essential role consulting engineers play in designing and delivering the systems that support daily life.

Recognized projects span transportation networks, water and wastewater systems, energy infrastructure, public facilities, environmental restoration, industrial development, and advanced technology systems.

The program is a statewide platform to demonstrate technical rigor and long-term public value.

Recognition

Award entries are evaluated across five equally weighted categories:

  • Innovation and technical achievement

  • Advancement of the engineering profession and public awareness

  • Social, economic, and sustainable development impact

  • Technical complexity

  • Successful fulfillment of client or owner objectives

Projects are reviewed by an independent panel of judges representing a range of engineering disciplines and industry expertise.
