2018-19 ACEC/MN Engineering Excellence Awards
ACEC/MN celebrated its 52nd Annual Engineering Excellence Awards at a gala on January 25, 2019. The event drew over 260 attendees to the Graduate Minneapolis. The evening began with Master of Ceremonies Alison Rempel Brown, CEO of Science Museum of Minnesota, welcoming members, clients, and guests to the event, followed by a brief address from current president Dan Larson, PE, CEO of American Engineering Testing, Inc. See below for an event photo gallery.
The Engineering Excellence Awards Program recognizes engineering achievements that exhibit the highest degree of merit and ingenuity. Entries were judged based on originality and innovation; future value to the engineering profession; social, economic and sustainable design considerations; complexity; and meeting the client’s needs.
The Grand Conceptor Award, which recognizes the highest scoring project by the judging panel, was awarded to Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. and Parsons Corporation for St. Anthony Parkway Bridge over BNSF Northtown Yard. The People’s Choice Award, presented to the firm that received the highest number of votes by banquet attendees, was awarded to LHB, Inc. for The Promenade of Wayzata.
In addition to the 8 Grand Awards, 16 engineering projects received Honor Awards. *See a complete list of award winners below. Contact Kristine Scott at firstname.lastname@example.org or 952/593-5533 for project descriptions and photographs. Congratulations to all the winning firms!
