Fourth Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Raises Over $14,000
Over the four years ACEC/MN has hosted the tournament, this was a year of many "firsts". The first year a title sponsor was secured Geopier Foundation Company Midwest. The first time the tournament was sold out three weeks prior to the event. The first time, every hole at the course had a sponsor. And finally, the first time a golfer nailed a hole-in-one! What a year!
When Tina Pint of Barr Engineering (photo left) approached hole #15 at Oak Marsh Golf Club on Monday, June 25, little did she know, she'd hit a hole in one and walk away with $10,000.
"After I hit my drive, I didn't know right away that it went in,"said Pint. One of my playing partners commented that it looked good but he lost it at the pin. When we got up there we didn't see my ball on the green and one of my partners went straight to the cup. Upon seeing it, she yelled it was in! I think I was in shock; my partners were initially much more excited than I was. It was definitely something I will never forget!""
ACEC/MN members, clients and guests hit the links at Oak Marsh Golf Club in Oakdale on June 25 to help raise funds for next year's engineering scholarships.
Being a good golfer was not required! ACEC/MN even awarded the last team with a prize. All of the players enjoyed a relaxing day of socializing and networking for a great cause. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
