Presenter:

ACEC/MN is excited and honored to report that Speaker of the Minnesota House Kurt Zellers will be the featured speaker at this year's Fall Welcome!  Speaker Zellers serves in what has been called "the second most powerful position in Minnesota" and was instrumental in the negotiations that brought the recent state government shutdown to an end. This is your chance to meet an accomplished legislator on the rise - more than a few former Speakers have run for Governor.

Speaker Zellers was first elected in 2004 in Maple Grove and helped to lead the charge in 2010 to flip the control of the Minnesota House. His candidate recruitment, hands-on work, and high level planning were key in the historic victory.

Speaker Zellers will discuss several important topics with us:

  • The challenges of the 2011 session
  • The special session budget agreement that ended Minnesota’s longest government shutdown
  • Plans for a new Vikings Stadium
  • A 2012 session preview
  • The future of infrastructure investment in Minnesota
