Fall Welcome Reception and Expo: Department of Labor Commissioner Steve Sviggum Speaks to Members
We’ve taken the annual fall welcome reception/committee expo and combined it with the first monthly meeting to give our members two great events at one low cost! If you are a new, current or former ACEC/MN member, or even if you’re interested in learning more about ACEC/MN, come to our Monthly Meeting/Fall Welcome Reception Luncheon.
Why should you attend?
We are pleased to have one of Minnesota’s most visible public servants on hand speak to us. Department of Labor Commissioner Steve Sviggum will discuss his agencies latest activities, including the adoption of the latest building code, establishment of new construction code regulatory boards and the potential application of prevailing wages to some of the technical services members provide. In addition, Steve is an astute observer of the political process and will give us some insights into the upcoming election.

Presenter:
Commissioner Steve Sviggum is a a 30 year veteran of the Minnesota Legislature. He was elected to the House 15 consecutive times, served as House Minority leader and was the longest serving Speaker of the House in the modern era. He was appointed Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry in 2007.
